Mike Maignan's future at AC Milan is uncertain as contract extension talks have stalled and appear to be deteriorating even as he progresses. Milan now want a renewal that they did not want months earlier, while Maignan does not currently desire an immediate extension. An agreement remains possible until a definitive refusal from either side, and Milan are holding negotiation leverage. Maignan can legally speak to other clubs from January, though that may not materialize.
