Zachary Athekame, a 20-year-old Swiss defender, has joined AC Milan from BSC Young Boys for approximately €10 million, including bonuses. He has signed a contract valid until June 30, 2030. Athekame began his career in Denmark and advanced through various youth teams in Switzerland. He made his professional debut with Neuchâtel Xamax, accumulating 51 appearances and two goals, followed by 47 appearances and one goal with Young Boys. Athekame represents Switzerland’s U21 National Team and will wear the number 24 jersey.
Milan is delighted to announce the permanent signing of Zachary Christopher Athekame from BSC Young Boys. The Swiss defender has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2030.
Athekame, 20-year-old Swiss defender, has arrived from Young Boys in a deal worth around €10m including bonuses, and he will try to convince coach Allegri that the spot on the right-hand side is his.
Born in Vanløse (Denmark) on 13 December 2004, Zachary came up through the youth ranks in Switzerland with Servetter and Meyrin. He joined Neuchâtel Xamax in 2022, with whom he made his professional footballing debut.
Athekame is the 7th summer signing after Samuele Ricci, Luka Modrić, Pietro Terracciano, Pervis Estupiñán, Ardon Jashari and Koni De Winter. Milan are now looking for a striker.
