PerPlant raises 1M to put AI cameras on tractors, and 200,000 hectares in the bank
PerPlant builds a tractor-roof system with a camera and AI that decides which plants receive spraying. The company reports a 90% reduction in herbicide use and a 30% reduction in fertilizer use for an average Danish farm of about 200 hectares. It claims the system can pay back within a single growing season, with estimated annual savings around DKK 269,000 per farm. PerPlant states its sensors have covered more than 200,000 hectares of European farmland, creating a large precision-farming dataset. The on-tractor sensors provide 2–10 cm resolution compared with satellite imagery at 10–30 m.
