Crock Pot Honey Chicken and Rice
"This is an easy and delicious Crock Pot chicken recipe. It is a fantastic slow cooker meal your family will love. Use the cut of chicken you prefer. We opted for boneless and skinless chicken thighs. The chicken cooks in a sauce made of soy sauce, honey, ketchup, and seasonings. It's sweet and savory. Initially, the sauce is thin, so we suggest using the corn starch mixture if you prefer a thicker sauce. Delicious served over rice with a vegetable on the side."
"Put it into the Crock Pot. Combine honey, soy sauce, onion, ketchup, oil, garlic, and pepper flakes. Pour over the chicken. Cook on high for 2 - 3 hours or on low for 4 - 5 hours. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it and cut into bite-sized pieces. Whisk 2 Tbsp of corn starch with 1/4 cup of water to thicken the sauce."
The recipe uses 2 pounds of boneless chicken seasoned with salt and pepper and cooked in a sauce of honey, soy sauce, chopped onion, ketchup, oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Cook on high for 2–3 hours or low for 4–5 hours, then cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Whisk 2 tablespoons cornstarch with 1/4 cup water to thicken the sauce, return the chicken, and cook on high until the sauce thickens. Serve the sweet-savory chicken and sauce over rice with a vegetable on the side. Use a liner or stir hourly to prevent honey from burning.
