Ballard Power Systems is a leader in fuel cell manufacturing, providing hydrogen fuel cell engines for several major European bus operators. The company signed a contract with Solaris Bus & Coach for 1,000 hydrogen fuel cell engines to be delivered through 2027, and operates over 1,700 fuel cell buses worldwide. Additionally, Ballard is developing a new Gigafactory in Texas with a significant investment and government grant to support fuel cell production.
