Milano Design Week hosts debut of Lazzerini's 100% recycled plastic seat (developed with Nextchem) - Sustainable Bus
"The Re-Compact seat is manufactured entirely from recycled plastic derived from post-consumer waste streams and processed through Nextchem's NX Replast™ technology, according to the company press release."
"The recycling process is carried out at the Bedizzole facility operated by MyReplast Industries, where post-consumer plastics undergo chemical treatment and purification, followed by a mechanical upcycling phase."
"The final product is designed for durability and for re-entry into subsequent production cycles, ensuring sustainability in public transport seating systems."
"The Re-Compact seat is treated with Pureti photocatalytic technology, enabling surfaces to perform self-cleaning functions and to reduce the presence of pollutants, including smog, bacteria, and viruses."
Lazzerini is unveiling the Re-Compact seat made entirely from recycled plastic at Milano Design Week 2026. This product is part of an industrial collaboration with Nextchem, utilizing their NX Replast™ technology. The seat is manufactured from post-consumer waste, processed at MyReplast Industries. The production process ensures the material's strength and durability match that of virgin materials. Additionally, the seat features Pureti photocatalytic treatment for self-cleaning and pollutant reduction. The exhibition runs from April 20 to April 26, 2026, in Milan's Isola district.
