Tesla is set to roll out its 2025 spring update for owners in the U.S. and Canada, which includes highly anticipated adaptive headlights. These headlights will automatically adjust to reduce glare for oncoming drivers while improving visibility. Other new features include customizable trunk height settings, alternative trip routing options, and various minor enhancements. The rollout follows confirmations from Tesla's VP of Vehicle Engineering about the adaptive headlights being incorporated into the new Model Y and will also be available on the Cybertruck.
High beams adapt to reduce glare for other drivers and cyclists. By detecting other road users, and selectively dimming individual pixels of the headlight, your high beams stay on more often for greater visibility at night.
Tesla's VP of Vehicle Engineering Lars Moravy confirmed in February that the matrix headlights and adaptive headlights would be making their way to the U.S. soon.
