Trieste Trasporti opens e-bus charging station with 14 charging points - Sustainable Bus
Trieste Trasporti inaugurated a new electric bus charging station at its Broletto depot in Trieste in mid-May. The facility includes 12 charging positions for electric buses, plus two additional charging points in the adjacent Esercito building. The infrastructure supports the operator’s broader fleet electrification strategy and development programme. Currently, 25 electric buses operate on the urban network, and 15 more are expected to enter service by September 2026 with an investment exceeding 24 million euros. Trieste Trasporti also launched a tender for electric buses in February 2026. Charging infrastructure is expected to expand alongside fleet growth, with structural works planned at the San Marco depot starting at the end of May and completion targeted for 2028.
