"A taller, phone-like outer screen generally leads to a more square inner panel once unfolded, which can be awkward for many types of content, like videos and two open windows in Split View. Conversely, a more rectangular inner display that better supports multi-window use inevitably forces the outer display to become wider or smaller, making it less comfortable to hold and less conventional in use."
The iPhone 18 Pro is expected for a traditional September launch with hardware design updates and notable camera changes. Planned camera features include under-screen Face ID, a front camera in the top-left corner, variable aperture for at least one rear camera, and a simplified Camera Control button without swipe gestures. The iPhone Fold appears to use a 7.7-inch 4:3 inner display and a 5.3-inch outer display to favor an iPad Mini–like unfolded experience over a phone-like outer screen. European developments include an iOS Bonus initiative and regulatory pressure affecting App Store operations, and Italy has fined the App Store. AirPods celebrate their tenth anniversary.
