Apple launched a campaign film called No Frame Missed showcasing Action Mode, a camera feature on iPhone 14 and later that captures ultra-stable video even when the camera moves. The feature reduces the impact of hand tremors, enabling people with Parkinson's disease to record stable footage and more easily use their phones. The film follows four individuals with Parkinson's who celebrate recording life's moments. Examples include Maria and Bette, a mother-daughter duo who both received diagnoses around the same time and used the feature to make a film for a 94th birthday, and Ellen, who recorded her proposal and shared stable wedding footage.
Action Mode is a camera feature that is available on iPhone 14 models and above, which enables the capture of ultra-stable video footage even when the camera is in motion, such as when playing sports. The film shows how, somewhat serendipitously, this advanced feature works beautifully for individuals living with Parkinson's disease, for whom hand tremors are a very common symptom, making the recording of stable video and sometimes even the basic use of the phone itself a significant challenge.
The docu-style film directed by Renato Amoroso follows 4 individuals with Parkinson's disease recounting some of their experiences living with the incurable neurological condition and celebrating their newfound ability to capture life's precious moments just as they see and feel them. There is Maria and Bette, a mother-daughter duo from Orange County who were somewhat extraordinarily diagnosed with Parkinson's around the same time. The film shows Bette using the technology to create a film to celebrate Marie's 94th birthday.
