Bezel-less iPhone, flip model to launch by 2028, claims rumor
"Apple has yet to enter the foldable smartphone market, but reports suggest the company could debut its first model, the iPhone Fold, by the end of 2026. Now, a new rumor claims that Apple will launch new form factors in 2027 and 2028. The iPhone Fold will feature a book-shaped design with an LTPO+ flexible OLED panel that will roughly be the size of the iPad mini. It will use a glass mid frame to minimize wrinkles, as per the rumor."
"Apple will then launch a bezel-free iPhone in 2027 that will use four-edge bending OLED. It will also get a 'Crater diffusion layer' that is said to solve issues with brightness uniformity. The phone will also feature an under-display solution for Face ID. This will also be the 20th anniversary iPhone. In 2028, Apple will unveil a clamshell foldable phone, as per the rumor."
Rumors indicate Apple could debut a book-shaped iPhone Fold by the end of 2026 with an LTPO+ flexible OLED panel roughly the size of the iPad mini. The Fold is said to use a glass mid frame to minimize screen wrinkles. In 2027 Apple is expected to release a bezel-free iPhone with four-edge bending OLED, a 'Crater diffusion layer' to improve brightness uniformity, and an under-display Face ID solution for the 20th anniversary model. In 2028 a clamshell foldable iPhone Flip is rumored with a simple external display for basic information, AI shortcuts, and notifications, plus curved edges and a lightweight design. Reliability of these rumors is uncertain.
