The M5 MacBook Pro Isn't the Apple Upgrade You've Been Waiting For

The M5 chip significantly boosts overall performance, with especially strong gains in graphics and AI workloads. Storage is faster and a new GPU delivers notable gaming improvements. Battery life, speakers, build quality, keyboard, and trackpad remain world-class. The external design and connectivity options are unchanged from the past four years, with no OLED display, touchscreen, or thinner chassis. Apple launched this M5 model ahead of M5 Pro and M5 Max variants, and no M5 MacBook Air or 16-inch model is yet available. Small historical performance gaps between Air and Pro persist, making display, ports, and portability key buying considerations.
