Anthropic just topped OpenAI on a major metric ahead of rival IPOs

Anthropic is approaching a $1 trillion valuation after announcing a $65 billion Series H financing round that brings its valuation to $965 billion. The round was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital and included $15 billion of prior commitments, with $5 billion from Amazon. The valuation has nearly tripled from $380 billion in February. OpenAI is valued at $852 billion, including $122 billion raised in March. Anthropic’s growth is linked to Claude coding software, including the release of Claude Opus 4.8 and plans for Claude Mythos models with advanced cybersecurity capabilities. The company also launched Claude for Small Business with agentic workflows for payroll, marketing, invoicing, contracts, and content strategy.

So far, it's only been available to select group of companies."
