Google will invest approximately $15 billion between 2026 and 2030 to build a large data center and AI hub in Vishakhapatman, Andhra Pradesh. The campus will begin with 1-gigawatt capacity and will be scaled to multiple gigawatts to meet the electricity demands of AI compute. The hub will join a global network of AI centers in 12 countries and is described as a digital backbone connecting different parts of India. The project includes gigawatt-scale compute, an international subsea gateway, and large-scale energy infrastructure to accelerate AI adoption and support enterprises amid rapid internet growth in India.
