"I love being able to bounce ideas off the AI like I do my other writer colleagues."
"I feed it my ideas and it generates a version that is more digestible and concrete," another said."
"It helps me summarize and think quickly. It's definitely offloaded some of my creative thinking by breaking through writer's block," one study participant said."
Data came from conversations with 174 creative professionals over three months in early 2025. Forty-three percent of respondents were TV and film producers, directors, and similar professionals. The most common AI use (19.35%) was brainstorming ideas and getting feedback on story concepts. Other notable uses included efficiency gains (17.74%) and research-related work (11.29%). Respondents also used AI to speed research, create presentations, clean up texts and translations, and generate reference images. About 8% used AI across every creative step, while 19.35% reported minimal impact. Concerns about job displacement and creative-rights remain prominent.
