""I'm doing my math right now, and I'm working on percentages," said June Rockefeller, an Alpha 8th grader."

""The adults in the building are able to do what they're passionate about and what they love, which is mentoring the students, providing emotional support, providing motivational support," said Carson Lehmann, San Francisco Alpha School Lead Guide."
Alpha School operates AI-driven, mastery-based learning campuses with no traditional grades and no teachers, replacing instructors with adult guides who mentor and support students. Students complete focused learning in a two-hour daily session using laptops and individualized lesson software that provides corrective explanations and step-by-step guidance. The model emphasizes one-to-one mastery-based tutoring and individualized pacing, allowing students in the same room to work on different subjects. The first Alpha School began in Austin, and the network has grown to 13 campuses nationwide with recent expansion into San Francisco and planned campuses in Palo Alto and the East Bay.
