"Copilot Mode in Edge is evolving into an AI browser that is your dynamic, intelligent companion,"
"With your permission, Copilot can see and reason over your open tabs, summarize and compare information, and even take actions like booking a hotel or filling out forms."
"These are two very similar pictures. The Copilot for Edge background is a little darker, there's text instead of a logo, and the close/minimize buttons follow Windows conventions instead of MacOS conventions. Beyond that, Copilot puts its "ride-along" function in a new tab instead of a split-screen... but that's about it. It's pretty much the same product."
Microsoft added CoPilot Mode to Edge, embedding AI directly into the browser to create an intelligent, flexible assistant that follows browsing activity. CoPilot can analyze open tabs, summarize and compare information, and perform tasks such as booking hotels or filling out forms with user permission. The release arrived days after OpenAI demonstrated its Atlas browser, and the two products show clear visual and functional similarities. Differences are expected to come from the underlying AI models rather than interface layout. The ride-along assistant appears in a new tab in Edge, while appearance choices mirror common browser design conventions.
