"We've already got some pretty major exhibitions to look forward to next year, including Schiaparelli at the V&A, Henry Moore at Kew Gardens, and the Bayeux Tapestry at the British Museum, and now a David Hockney show is being added to the list. David Hockney, opening at Serpentine North in March and running through the spring and summer will be the artist's first exhibition at the gallery."
"The show will feature seminal works from Hockney, displayed in the UK for the first time. Working on his iPad, Hockney produced over a hundred images during the first Covid lockdown in 2020, recording the changes in light and weather during the spring. As lockdown lifted and the seasons shifted, he continued to digitally capture the whole cycle of the year, showcasing the ways that art and technology can come together and highlighting the beauty in the everyday."
"The Serpentine exhibition will feature recent works, including 'Moon Room', which reflects his interest in the cycle of light and time; digital paintings from his 'Sunrise' series; and 'A Year in Normandy', a ninety-metre-long frieze inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry, depicting the changing of the seasons at his former studio in the French region."
""We are thrilled that David Hockney has accepted our invitation to present new works at Serpentine North in 2026. As a highlight of our Spring/Summer season, the exhibition promises to be a landmark cultural moment. Serpentine is free and open to all, and we look forward to welcoming audiences from near and far.""

Hockney produced over a hundred iPad images in spring 2020, recording changes in light and weather, and continued to capture the full cycle of the year as seasons shifted. Featured works include Moon Room, digital paintings from the Sunrise series, and A Year in Normandy, a ninety‑metre frieze inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry. Serpentine is free and open to all.
