A Site-Specific Beach Play "Hole" by the SF Neo-Futurists (Sept. 7-21)

HOLE is a full-length, site-specific play set outdoors at the beach that centers on the literal act of digging a large hole. The performance examines obsession, identity, community, kindness, and the persistence of compulsive digging in pop culture. The play abandons a fourth wall and calls the audience to participate, asking, What needs to be done for you to take up the shovel? Performers play themselves rather than characters, and the outdoor setting is acknowledged and incorporated into the action.
