Five new artworks will appear across the TfL network in 2026 as part of Art on the Underground. The programme focuses on omissions from public space, highlighting lost waterways, vanished venues that supported city voices, and the hidden labour of night-time workers. Bethnal Green and Notting Hill will host a large-scale photographic work by Phoebe Boswell in March inspired by local Black swimming communities. Ellen Gallagher will design the 42nd pocket Tube map exploring colonial landscapes and marine mythology. Ain Bailey will present a ten-day audio installation at Waterloo in summer, Caroline Walker will spotlight night workers at Stratford in September, and Hurvin Anderson will unveil a Brixton mural in November. The works aim to enrich journeys and amplify untold stories that celebrate diversity and resilience.
