Heading to the movies this Thanksgiving? Here's what's new
"Annnnnnd they're off blockbusters chasing award contenders everywhere you look. Disney animation, a new Knives Out mystery, an afterlife romance, a bazonkers Brazilian thriller, and a tale of Shakespeare and the healing power of art. Good thing you caught up with Wicked: For Good last week, right? Here's what's new in theaters for the holiday weekend. (And here's what came out last week, and the week before.)"
"In the first movie, our heroes, Judy Hopps, a bunny voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin, and Nick Wilde, a fox voiced by Jason Bateman, became partners in the Zootopia Police Department, having worked together to catch a corrupt assistant mayor and put her away. Now, they're settling into their new jobs, trying to get used to the fact that she's a strict rule-follower, and he's a little more laid-back."
Multiple new films open in theaters for the holiday weekend, spanning blockbuster animation, a new mystery, an afterlife romance, a Brazilian thriller, and an art-centered drama. Zootopia 2 reunites Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as partners at the Zootopia Police Department and follows a snake appearing in a reptile-free zone that brings a past mystery to light, with new voices including Ke Huy Quan, Andy Samberg, and Fortune Feimster. Eternity follows Larry after a fatal choking incident lands him at the Junction, a purgatory-like afterlife, where an Afterlife Coordinator named Anna helps him and his wife Joan navigate their next steps.
