"Light up the season with Photosynthesis, This beautiful light art installation was developed in partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department and was designed by Lumigeek with music by Tim Digulla. The installation uses special projectors to transform the all-white glasshouse into a series of exquisite scenes inspired by the rare tropical flowers growing within this national landmark."
"Bundle up and spread out a blanket on the lawn in front of the iconic Conservatory of Flowers for an amazing evening of free music and psychedelic visuals in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park every night at sunset. The outside of the Conservatory of Flowers will be illuminated starting 30 minutes after sunset every night and will continue to run on a loop until midnight."
The Photosynthesis light art installation was developed with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, designed by Lumigeek, and scored by Tim Digulla. Special projectors transform the all-white Conservatory glasshouse into seasonal scenes inspired by the rare tropical flowers housed inside. The installation changes visuals and music twice yearly for spring–summer and fall–winter cycles; the fall–winter version ran starting November 8, 2024, with a similar start anticipated in 2025. The free, outdoor public installation begins about 30 minutes after sunset nightly, loops until midnight, and is viewable from JFK Promenade, Conservatory lawns (Conservatory Valley), and nearby street parking.
