Trail's End Art Association: In Gearhart, a fellowship of artists * Oregon ArtsWatch
Briefly

In 1946, a Fuller Brush salesman encouraged artist Mabel Keck to start an art club, leading to the establishment of the Trail's End Art Association (TEAA) in Gearhart, Oregon. As it nears its 75th anniversary, TEAA has thrived in a historical schoolhouse funded by member donations. The club aims to foster creativity and community engagement in fine arts, boasting 62 members who benefit from classes and gallery shows. Celebrating its legacy, the association plans to inaugurate the first Free Little Art Gallery on the North Coast.
While it may sound like a smarmy post-war pickup line, you can't say it didn't serve its purpose.
The club's mission is 'to provide educational opportunities in the fine arts, to foster creation of original fine art in all media, and to enhance the enjoyment of art in the community.'
Most importantly, according to its website, 'those who utilize our organization on a regular basis will find a fellowship of other artists.'
It's just kind of bringing the community together in a different way.
