2025 Atlanta Braves Prospect Reviews: Rolddy Munoz
"The 2025 season was a bit of a rollercoaster for Munoz. He opened the year back in Double-A, but got promoted to Triple-A in late-May. He got sent back down to Columbus in late-July for a month, before heading back to Gwinnett. After just two appearances with Gwinnett the second time, he earned a big league call up that lasted for three games in September, before finishing up in Gwinnett."
"He dominated in Columbus, pitching to a 2.11 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over 38.1 innings in 25 outings. He picked up 34 strikeouts to 23 walks there. In Gwinnett he had a 4.15 ERA and 1.25 WHIP over 21.2 innings in 16 games, striking out 25 to his 10 walks. Combined in the minors he had a 2.85 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 59 strikeouts to 33 walks in 60 innings, picking up six saves."
Rolddy Munoz signed with the Braves in the 2017–18 international free agent class for a $20,000 bonus, $10,000 less than his twin brother Roddery. After spending most of 2024 in Double-A, expectations for 2025 included progression to Triple-A and a possible MLB bullpen opportunity. Munoz began 2025 in Double-A, earned a late-May promotion to Triple-A, returned to Double-A in late July, then back to Triple-A before a three-game MLB call-up in September. He dominated in Columbus with a 2.11 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 38.1 innings and combined for a 2.85 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 59 strikeouts and six saves in 60 minor-league innings. His three MLB appearances covered 3.2 innings with two scoreless outings and one poor outing that inflated his MLB ERA.
