Jurickson Profar gets 162-game PED suspension after appeal resolved
Jurickson Profar, a 33-year-old Atlanta Braves outfielder, will serve a 162-game suspension for testing positive for exogenous testosterone and its metabolites. This marks his second PED violation, resulting in a full-season ban under MLB's 2014 penalty enhancement for repeat offenders. Profar will be ineligible for postseason play in 2026 and will forfeit his entire $15 million salary for the season. He is the sixth player to receive a 162-game suspension for PED use since the penalty was increased.
"Major League Baseball announced earlier this month that Profar tested positive for "exogenous testosterone and its metabolites." He is the sixth player to receive a 162-game ban for PED use since MLB increased the penalty for two-time offenders to a full season in 2014."
"Profar will serve a 162-game suspension for testing positive a second time and will be ineligible for postseason play in 2026. Profar, 33, will forfeit the entirety of his $15 million salary for 2026."
