Barcelona's Joan Garcia 'unbelievable' in hostile homecoming
"I have to say thank you to Joan García because he played unbelievable,"
"He's one of the best goalkeepers in the world."
"He will never forget this, but it's football and he plays now for us. His performances have been unbelievable for the whole season. He played fantastic, with a clean sheet today and he was responsible for that."
Joan García, 24, returned to the RCDE Stadium facing whistles, insults and thrown bank notes after his summer €25 million move from Espanyol to Barcelona. García saved a season-high six shots, including a remarkable stop from a Pere Milla header, as Barcelona secured a 2-0 win with late goals from Dani Olmo and Robert Lewandowski. García made 68 appearances for Espanyol after joining their academy in 2016. Barcelona coach praised García as one of the best goalkeepers, credited him for the clean sheet and emphasized the value of having a top goalkeeper.
