"Kingsley Coman's lederhosen from Oktoberfest visits with FC Bayern are still in his wardrobe at home - not just as a memory of "an amazing time". "I want to wear them again some time and visit Oktoberfest with the guys," explained Coman as he visited a chilly Säbener Straße in November. "But I'm very used to that. I spent 10 years here," said the Frenchman, who now plays his football in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr."
"Born in Paris in 1996 and with 61 senior caps for France, but there's now a Bavarian feel to Coman. "In Paris, you cross on a red when there's no car coming. In Munich, everyone waits till it's green. Now I always wait till it's green, even in Paris," he says jokingly. But there's far more than traffic rules that Coman has taken from his illustrious decade at Bayern. "That philosophy, that Mia san Mia, that family feeling - it's all special."
"The 29-year-old's legacy in Munich includes nine Bundesliga titles, three DFB Cups, six domestic Supercups, one UEFA Super Cup, a Club World Cup and of course the 2020 Champions League. It was his header in the final of the latter that secured the 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain. "I had a super time in Munich," King said. "I had lots of friends here who became like a family for me." He'll now finally get a chance to say a proper goodbye to them on Saturday."
Kingsley Coman visited Säbener Straße and will receive an official send-off at the Allianz Arena before the St. Pauli game. His lederhosen from Oktoberfest remain in his wardrobe and he plans to wear them again with former teammates. Coman, born in Paris in 1996 with 61 senior caps for France, spent ten years at Bayern and adopted local habits and the club's Mia san Mia philosophy. He described teammates as family and returned to say goodbye. His Munich honours include nine Bundesliga titles, three DFB Cups, six Supercups, a UEFA Super Cup, a Club World Cup and the 2020 Champions League secured by his header.
