The US-Israel war with Iran is rooted in decades of political tensions. Despite this, musicians from both countries in Berlin are promoting cultural dialogue. Babak Shafieian, an Iranian musician, initiated the ensemble Sistanagila to counter antisemitic rhetoric from Iran's past leadership. Inspired by his family's musical background and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, he sought to create solidarity between Iranians and Israelis. He approached Israeli musician Yuval Halpern, who initially hesitated but later joined the project, leading to the formation of a diverse musical group.
