Liste and Volta, both stalwart Basel satellite fairs, celebrate major anniversaries
Briefly

Art Basel’s Liste and Volta fairs are celebrating milestones, with Liste hitting 30 years of showcasing young artists, while Volta marks its 20th edition. Liste was founded to promote emerging artists under 40, creating a fresh perspective in the art world. This year, it is hosting 99 stands from 31 countries. Volta, newly relocated to a bigger space, has expanded to 70 stands and enhanced its programming to strengthen community ties among galleries. Both fairs highlight emerging talent and foster artistic visibility in the market.
"It was kind of a shock for Art Basel themselves, that there would be a young, progressive and fresh perspective on art, and that a whole new fair would be founded," Dietrich says.
"We carry this responsibility, that the artists and the galleries they are representing are gaining success and visibility," Dietrich says of Liste.
The larger space has allowed the fair to grow from 47 exhibitors last year to 70 stands this year, as well as to expand the fair's programming.
Liste is now an established and respected part of Basel's fair season, Dietrich says.
