Noise Surround System - Bringing city noise into philharmonic
Briefly

The Noise Surround System, designed for the MDF Festival by the Philharmonic of Szczecin, immerses audiences in the urban soundscape, contrasting it with the serene atmosphere typically associated with philharmonic venues. Standing 4.5 meters high and 7 meters in diameter, it utilizes eight motorized trolleys to spatialize audio derived from Szczecin's noisiest locales. This innovative setup, driven by remote-controlled Nodes, synchronizes audio, light, and movement, aiming to stimulate public discourse on noise pollution and its impact on urban living.
The Noise Surround System challenges traditional perceptions of sound by juxtaposing the cacophony of urban noise with the serene performance space of the philharmonic.
This project aims not only to entertain but also to raise awareness about noise pollution, prompting the audience to engage in a meaningful discussion.
