'Better on schedule than last year' - Remco Evenepoel 1.5kg lighter and sharpening for Tour de France at Dauphine
Briefly

Remco Evenepoel heads into the Critérium du Dauphiné, his final preparation race for the Tour de France, in better shape than last year, despite having faced challenges from crashes and injuries. His team, Soudal-QuickStep, expresses optimism about his current form compared to previous seasons. Coach Koen Pelgrim notes that Evenepoel has resumed training more effectively this year, particularly after a beneficial week of rest. Although he has shown improvements, Pelgrim remains cautious, emphasizing the need to assess his performance closer to the Tour.
Remco is definitely better on schedule than last year. He started the altitude training camp for the Dauphiné with a disadvantage last year, but this time he’s at a pretty good level.
After accumulating competitions in the spring, the week of rest really did him good. He is now one step further than last season just before the Dauphiné.
