Lucy Kennedy-Wong and Priscilla Wu, both Portland city employees, created a themed bike ride named Ex-Boyfriend Music. The concept originated from their shared experiences with past relationships and the music associated with them. They discovered a commonality in their ex-boyfriends' musical tastes, particularly in indie or alternative bands. The two began compiling playlists filled with lesser-known tracks and deep cuts, enjoying reminiscing about their romantic histories while inviting friends to join in on their themed rides, connecting over shared musical memories.
