Shimano introduces the Tiagra R4000 Series, a new 2×11 mechanical road drivetrain designed for performance and affordability. The system features an 11-36T cassette with 327% gear range, offering versatile gearing for sprints and climbs. The crankset provides two chainring options (52-36T or 50-34T) with multiple crank lengths from 165-175mm. New front and rear derailleurs deliver lighter, smoother shifting with optimized cage design and toggle-link construction. The drivetrain maintains compatibility with existing HG-X11 chains while achieving approximately 200g weight reduction. This release marks the eventual discontinuation of the Tiagra 4700 10-speed drivetrain.
