The newly released bodycam footage captures the chaotic moments leading up to the fatal shooting of Geoffrey Shyam Stirling, brother of 'Real Housewives' alum Lydia McLaughlin. Stirling, pulled over for running a red light, became uncooperative with the police officer. In a heated exchange, he allegedly grabbed the officer's taser during a scuffle, prompting the officer to fire multiple shots. Stirling later died at a hospital, leading his family to express serious concerns regarding the incident and seek justice for his death.
"You okay?" the officer could be heard asking as Stirling hopped off his bike at the beginning of the video. "I haven't been drinking, officer," Stirling responded. "I'm fully sober, I'm just trying to stay safe."
At one point, the motorcycle rider said "don't shoot me" as the officer radioed in that he was refusing to comply with demands. "I'm not going to shoot you," the cop responded.
"Drop it!" the officer could be heard shouting before firing off at least six rounds. Police had earlier alleged that Stirling grabbed the officer's taser from his holster during the altercation.
His family, meanwhile, said they have "serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding his death, and they are seeking justice."
