Kansas man who was falsely accused of being a shooter after Chiefs' 2024 Super Bowl win has died
Briefly

Denton Loudermill Jr., a Kansas man who was wrongfully accused of participating in a shooting at a Kansas City rally, has died at the age of 49. After the incident which resulted in multiple casualties, including a fatality, Loudermill was handcuffed but never charged. He later sued several politicians for spreading false information about him, but those cases were dismissed. His attorney confirmed his passing without details, emphasizing the need for family privacy during their grief.
Loudermill ultimately was led away and told he was free to go. But soon posts began appearing on X that included a picture of Loudermill, a car wash employee who was born and raised in the U.S. The posts called him an 'illegal alien' and a 'shooter,' even though he had no involvement, the lawsuits said.
Attorney LaRonna Lassiter Saunders confirmed Loudermill's death in a statement Friday but gave no details on the circumstances. Loudermill was 49.
