In Vallejo, landlord Curtis Lind was brutally attacked by squatters, with threats made to his life. Despite calling for police assistance, no officers arrived until hours later. Lind suffered severe injuries from a sword attack but managed to shoot back in self-defense, resulting in the death of one assailant. Testimony from a friend revealed the chilling moments before the attack and Lind's desperate state when he finally sought help. Two individuals are now facing charges including felony murder and attempted murder in connection with the incident.
"He was bleeding like a stuck pig. I mean, it was just gushing out of him," McMillan recalled as he witnessed the horrific aftermath of the attack.
"He asked me to call the police. He said they were screaming threats to kill him," testified Patrick McMillan detailing Lind's desperation before the attack.
