Most followers recognize him primarily for animation rather than his comic work. Nkondo launched a Kickstarter campaign for English translations of two graphic novels: Peaceful Remission and Wandering. The campaign significantly exceeded expectations, raising over $100,000 against an initial goal of $7,500. Nkondo expressed surprise at the campaign's success, noting he underestimated public interest in his earlier work and views the re-release as an opportunity to reach audiences unfamiliar with his comic background.
"I think most of the people who follow my work don't necessarily know that I published comics. I am mainly known for my work in animations, so revisiting those books and promoting them again was a good way to spread the word."
