
Robert “Bobby” Kilduff Jr., a 53-year-old Boston firefighter and Marine Corps veteran, died after suffering severe injuries while fighting a fire at a Dorchester residence on Saturday night. Firefighters battled heavy flames on all three floors of the home at 18 Treadway Road, with the fire burning through the roof. Crews knocked down the fire by about 8:30 p.m. and prevented it from spreading to neighboring homes. Kilduff fell from a third-story window during the blaze and was seriously injured. He was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he died later that night. Community members and officials mourned his loss during public displays of support as his body was transferred for medical examination and later to a funeral home.
