David Pastrnak's 400th career goal with Bruins was fitting - for several reasons
"I did not expect it. I didn't even know it's allowed, honestly, for 400 goals. I was worried that we were gonna get a penalty. I think that's exactly when it hit me, when the guys came [out]. Obviously I'm very humble guy. And coming from where I'm came from - if you told me that when I joined this league [I'd score 400], I wouldn't believe you."
"He does it his way, right? I can't really compare him - maybe [Alex] Ovechkin a little bit."
David Pastrnak scored his 400th and 401st career goals at TD Garden against the Toronto Maple Leafs, powering the Bruins to a 5-3 victory. He scored 49 seconds into the second period for his 400th and added a power-play goal at 9:48 of the third for his 401st. Nearly 20,000 fans attended the milestone. Pastrnak has 35 goals and 68 points in 54 career games versus Toronto, including postseason play. Boston extended its winning streak to seven, its longest since 2022-23 after a six-game October skid. Pastrnak, 29, ranks sixth in franchise history with 401 goals, one behind Rick Middleton (402), and could surpass Brad Marchand (422) and Patrice Bergeron (427).
