In response to ongoing trade rumors involving key players Jaylen Brown and Derrick White, Boston Celtics vice president Mike Zarren asserted the significant value these players hold for the team. Following the recent draft and the trade of Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, speculation had surged regarding potential blockbuster trades. However, Zarren clarified that no serious trade offers have been made. Instead, the Celtics focused on accumulating future assets through a calculated draft trade with Orlando, ensuring a strategy aimed at strengthening their roster while securing promising prospects.
Those two guys are really, really great NBA players, and there hasn't been anything close to serious about trading them. I'm not sure where all this reporting came from but those guys are key parts of our team, and we're lucky to have them here.
All the time we're looking for the ability to get more assets in the future and still get a bunch of good players. We felt pretty confident that there'd be guys we liked lower in the draft and we had the ability to add a couple of really good future draft picks.
