""The community has been in a place of hurting, in a place of loss. It's been a very emotional time where the community has struggled to find a way to heal. The gift of this sign to the community will help them to heal. It already is.""
""Our Pink House came to mean a great deal to so many, in countless ways. In this historic area, now it too will be remembered.""
The Pink House, a century-old home on Plum Island, was demolished on March 11, 2025, after a prolonged effort to save it. The Town of Newbury unveiled a new sign to honor its memory, funded by an anonymous donation. The sign features an artist's rendering and acknowledges the emotional impact of the house on the community. Former board member Sandy Tilton expressed that the sign will aid in the community's healing process following the loss of the beloved home.
