"Alex Cora led this organization to one of the greatest seasons in Red Sox history in 2018, and for that, and the many years that followed, he will always have our deepest gratitude."
"The team said it is also parting ways with five members of the coaching staff: hitting coach Peter Fatse, third base coach Kyle Hudson, bench coach Ramon Vazquez, assistant hitting coach Dillon Lawson, and major league hitting strategy coach Joe Cronin."
Alex Cora was dismissed as the manager of the Boston Red Sox after the team struggled in the AL East, currently sitting in last place. Cora previously led the team to a franchise-record 108 wins and a World Series title in 2018. Chad Tracy, who managed the Triple-A Worcester affiliate, will take over on an interim basis. The Red Sox also parted ways with five coaching staff members, while Jason Varitek was reassigned within the organization.
