He previously pitched in Japan with a 3.26 ERA in 2024 and has a 4.76 ERA from his MLB experience with the Jays and Nationals. The release of William Cuevas was necessary to create an international roster spot. Cuevas had a successful career in the KBO, winning a championship in 2021, but fell out of favor this season with a 5.40 ERA in 98 1/3 innings.
