Patriots' Day traffic? No thank you. Red Sox' Walker Buehler spends night at hotel for early start
Briefly

In preparation for an early game during the Patriots' Day festivities, pitcher Walker Buehler opted to stay overnight at a local hotel in Boston with his family. This decision was made to avoid potential disruptions from the Boston Marathon route. Buehler, who sported a commemorative jersey during the game, successfully pitched seven innings against the White Sox, allowing only one run while striking out nine batters. This marked his earliest start since his time in Double-A in 2017, highlighting both his preparation and adaptability as an athlete.
I stayed at a hotel last night, just so that I kind of didn't have to worry too much about it.
Wearing a white home jersey with red letters spelled out 'Boston' across the front, Buehler threw his first pitch at 11:11 a.m.
He said he set his alarm for 6:45 a.m. and got to the park at 7:15.
Buehler gave up a run in the first inning before going the next six scoreless, holding Chicago to four hits.
