Rays Notes: Kim, Bigge, McClanahan
Briefly

Ha-Seong Kim, signed by the Rays for a $29MM contract, is on the verge of returning to the majors after shoulder surgery. Following a successful rehab game with Triple-A Durham, Kim's progress is encouraging but not yet guaranteed for an immediate return. Manager Kevin Cash and president Erik Neander emphasize monitoring his recovery closely. The Rays, currently performing well in the AL East, could greatly benefit from Kim's solid hitting and exceptional defensive skills, especially as their shortstop production has been subpar recently.
"We'll get through these next three days and then just get an idea of where he's at. If he needs a little more time, we'll be there to provide it."
"If he feels like he's close and ready, then we'll keep an open mind. We're hopefully closing in on an activation but still kind of day-to-day."
