Red Sox News & Links: Lucas Giolito didn't do his job on Tuesday night
Briefly

Before the latest game, Alex Cora refuted any discussions regarding Rafael Devers moving to first base, stating they are waiting for a veteran to volunteer. Lucas Giolito expressed disappointment in his performance, acknowledging a lack of contribution after time off. He emphasized his desire to engage more as part of the team. Walker Buehler is expected back soon from shoulder soreness, while Masataka Yoshida is receiving treatment for his own shoulder issues. Additionally, left-hander Shane Drohan is performing well at Triple-A with impressive statistics post-recovery.
At the end of the day, it's just one bad outing, albeit at a difficult stretch in the season for the team. Giolito spoke with Yahoo Sports about how he wants to contribute to the Red Sox after all the time off. "Last year, you know, Netflix was here, all this stuff's going on, and I'd be around, and it's like, 'I'm on the team' ... but I'm not. I haven't done s***."
Cora did say that he's getting a lot of suggestions via text. It seems that the team is just waiting for Devers, or any veteran, to volunteer to switch to first base for the rest of the year.
Walker Buehler's shoulder soreness has subsided and the team expects him to be back on May 14, his first eligible day. However, Masataka Yoshida's shoulder received a cortisone injection on Sunday to see if that can help improve his throwing issues.
Through six outings at Triple-A, left-hander Shane Drohan has the second-best K% (36%) and the tenth-best ERA in the league (1.90). He is pain-free for the first time since 2023.
