Red Sox Weighing Bullpen Move For Walker Buehler

Walker Buehler allowed four hits and four walks over four innings in a home loss to the Orioles, raising his season ERA to 5.40 across 22 starts. He issued at least three walks in four of his past five outings. The Red Sox signed him to a one-year, $21.05MM deal after a poor 2024 regular season but World Series performance. His strikeout rate is a career-low 16.5% and whiff rate 7.7%, while his walk rate exceeds 10% for the first time in his career. Buehler carried a 6.12 ERA into the All-Star Break. While he has managed a serviceable 3.66 mark in the second half, he has walked as many batters as he has struck out over his past six starts.
