At 79, Patty Hung has completed her 39th consecutive Boston Marathon, a record she has established and upheld over three decades since beginning her journey in 1987. As one of only 13 female participants aged 75 to 79, she finished the race with a time of 6:02:57, ranking eighth in her age group. A retired nurse and math teacher, Hung employs a unique training methodology that incorporates strength training, speed, and endurance. Her passion for running stems from the mental clarity it provides. Looking ahead, Hung eagerly anticipates her 40th race at age 80 in 2026.
