A young boy suffered serious injuries after being hit by a trash collection truck in Amesbury, prompting swift emergency response. Fire and police personnel arrived at California Street and California Lane shortly before 9 a.m. The 9-year-old, although serious injured, was conscious and alert when first responders arrived. He was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital and is expected to be moved to a Boston facility for further care. The driver of the truck from G.
