
Clover Food Lab, a Boston-based vegetarian fast-casual eatery, is closing all remaining locations in Massachusetts after May 28. The company operated brick-and-mortar restaurants, kiosks inside Whole Foods, catering, and a meal box delivery service, with about a dozen locations. Founded in 2008 by MIT graduate Ayr Muir as a food truck near MIT in Cambridge, Clover built a following over 17 years with farm-fresh, locally sourced menu items such as chickpea fritters, crispy Brussels sprouts, and mushroom popper sandwiches. Clover filed a WARN notice on March 30, 2026, affecting 182 employees effective May 29, and previously filed for Chapter 11 in late 2023 before emerging in 2024. The CEO cited rising costs and stated Thursday would be the final day of restaurant service and meal box delivery.
